      Thank you for your interest in this exciting program.  About Academic WorldQuest: The World Affairs Councils of America (WACA) offers the Academic WorldQuest, a world affairs education program for high school students. In Indiana, it is managed by the Indiana Council on World Affairs and is co-sponsored with the Indiana Council for the Social Studies. An Academic WorldQuest (AWQ) team includes 4 students plus 1 teacher. Any high school in Indiana can participate, including: public, charter, private, home school* or combination of students from up to two schools* (* Upon confirmation per ICWA & WACA). To enter up to four teams (of four students each team) to the AWQ 2020 competition, complete the following: For teachers who register a team, the ICWA will provide the following: FREE Teacher Membership in the ICWA for the 2019-2020 season Invitations to ICWA programs, at member pricing One Great Decisions 2019 Briefing Book for each team (upon request and while supplies last) Ongoing preparatory information for AWQ 2020 Announcement of teacher training programs offered by the WACA, the Foreign Policy Association, and other social studies organizations (some offer free tuition and travel stipends) Access to WACA online news interviews REGISTER BY JANUARY 15, 2020 About the Indiana Council for the Social Studies: The Indiana Council for the Social Studies is a growing professional organization with hundreds of members annually. Members are provided with statewide contacts that support textbook selection, program evaluation and curriculum issues.  Members remain current on new trends in social education through the following membership benefits: ICSS Annual Conference where connections with colleagues develop and thrive, announcements regarding regional and national social studies conferences, and Webinars covering a variety of topics essential to today's social studies classroom teacher.
